MLB Star Justin Turner Joins Beard Club as Equity Partner

Adds World Series champ to "The Best Beards in the Game."

Men’s grooming brand Beard Club is adding Major League Baseball star Justin Turner as its newest equity partner.

As partner, the two-time All-Star and World Series champion will serve as an ambassador for Beard Club and participate in marketing initiatives, helping to further increase the brand’s affinity among sports fans.

Brand officials say Turner’s signature beard and dedication to grooming excellence solidify Beard Club’s reputation for curating “The Best Beards in the Game.”

The brand says Turner epitomizes the values championed by Beard Club: individuality and self-expression.

“As someone who takes pride in my beard, grooming has always been a significant aspect of my routine,” said Turner. “I am thrilled to partner with Beard Club, a brand that shares my commitment to quality and innovation.”

Folk Hero

Turner wasn’t permitted to have a beard as a minor leaguer with the Reds, Orioles and Mets. But, he began growing his full facial hair after getting called up for his rookie year in the major leagues.

Turner joined the Dodgers and became a “folk hero” of sorts for his play — and his beard — as a member of the 2020 world championship team, according to the brand.

He signed with the Blue Jays during the most recent offseason.

“Once I didn’t have to abide by that rule in the minors, I was like, ‘Thank God, I don’t have to shave anymore,'” Turner said. “Once I ended up with the Dodgers and started letting it go, it became a brand for me. It became part of me, and now being a part of Beard Club and having everything I need to keep me looking as good as I possibly can, it’s a no-brainer.”

Beard Club’s product line features grooming essentials crafted with natural ingredients to nourish, strengthen and style beards of all lengths and textures. These include premium beard oils and balms to beard washes and precision grooming tools.

The range fits into the the growing market for men’s grooming.

Target Partnership

Beard Club recently launched a partnership with Target, adding its products to shelves across the US. Its family of brand partners includes NBA superstar James Harden and recording artist Kid Cudi. Beard Club says more will be announced in the coming months.
